The Centre for Research in Youth Science Teaching And Learning in Sherbrooke (CRYSTAL-Sherbrooke) is one of five CRYSTALS in Canada funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). The research studies of CRYSTAL-Sherbrooke aim at improving the quality of science & technology and mathematics education at the secondary level.

Postdoctoral Fellowship

 

CRYSTAL-Sherbrooke is looking for candidates to fill its postdoctoral fellowship in the field of science teaching and learning. This postdoctoral fellowship will support a promising new Canadian or foreign scholar interested in pursuing postdoctoral studies in connection with the research centre’s themes and objectives.

Animation kit

 

Ghislain Samson, a CRYSTAL-Sherbrooke researcher, and Eve Langelier, Professor of the Department of Engineering of the University of Sherbrooke, have joined their efforts and ideas to create a tool which makes accessible the technological conception approach used in engineering. The kit “Le génie, c’est genial!” is intended for science and technology teachers as well as school counselors.

Calling on candidates

 

Abdelkrim Hasni and CRYSTAL-Sherbrooke are looking for assistants to do research within the context of three research studies already in progress:

1. Conceptualisation et modélisation en sciences : représentations et pratiques d'enseignantes et d'enseignants du primaire et du secondaire du Québec;

2. Interdisciplinarité et enseignement des sciences et des technologies au secondaire : place, modalités de mise en œuvre, contraintes disciplinaires et institutionnelles;

3. Perfectionnement des compétences en enseignement des sciences, technologies et mathématiques du personnel enseignant au premier cycle du secondaire.
